What an exciting and challenging way for all of us wannabees out there to live the dream! I mean I'm sure every 9- 5'er and surf rat has enviously looked on as the sponsored rats seem to score sick waves at exotic locations every second of their lives. Okay now I'm just exaggerating, but with most of us having a passion for this sport and lifestyle we lead, it would be nice to recieve some financial rewards at the end of the day. I mean how much is a wetsuit nowadays? ..."Here have a few for free" says sponsor to the man. And boards, I am constantly creasing and damaging them trying to keep up with the level of surfing the pro's are dishing out! So I wouldn't mind getting one or two 'gratis' every now and again. But nevertheless we have some awesome talent representing our country and they deserve all the support they get because it ain't easy. Especially on the wqs grind. Just ask our guys doing it.

I really think it is going to be interesting seeing all the talent coming out of the woodwork for this unique project from Hurley. I'm excited to see the last men standing and of course the winner. I personally think it will come down to the most well rounded package, a person that can not only surf well but has a bit of character too. Look at Rob Machado and Tim Curran for goodness sake!

But nevertheless I better get goin and get some content up. I'm not letting this oppurtunity pass me by!

Good luck guys and Happy surfing!

Dean

Nice words there Dean, yeah, I am so stoked to check pictures of some of these okes ripping, okes most of us never even knew existed, yet they are doing turns and airs Jordy and the like would be proud of. South Africa truly has some amazing surfers, just wish we had an industry as big as the states or OZ so we could put all these guys on tour (actually maybe not because that would mean our spots would be as crowded as theirs, so I take that back!). Anyways to all the guys taking part in this challenge good luck and keep shredding, flip you okes are legends.
